TAIT1-40C, Sony AIT-1 40GB/104GB Turbo Backup Tape (Retail Packaging)

The Sony Turbo AIT TAIT1-40C is very similar to the TAITE-40N with only one major difference, the TAIT1-40C has a 64KBit MIC which enables users to quickly search for and locate desired files on a tape cartridge. This Sony TAIT1-40C has a capacity of 40 GB native and 104 GB of compressed capacity. With a transfer rate of 6 MB/s, the TAIT1-40C also uses AME (Advanced Metal Evaporated) tape with a DLC (Diamond Like Coating) so that the Sony Turbo AIT TAIT1-40C is very reliable and has a longer life than most metal particle tapes. The AME technology used in this Sony TAIT1-40C also improves magnetic flux density and coercivity so that recording on the tape is improved. AIT Turbo tapes are only for use with AIT Turbo tape drives.
