First released in 1997 as the successor to SLR4, SLR5 drives have a transfer rate of 387 KB/s. These SLR 5 tape cartridges are compatible with SLR 5 and SLR 32 (also known as MLR 1) tape drives. SLR5 has a native capacity of 4 GB on a tape of approximately 457 meters in length. One of the main advantages of Tandberg’s line of SLR products is the extensive read/write compatibility over several generations.
