Key Features for Sony AIT-3 Data Cartridge 100/260 GB New Bulk Packing SDX3-100C-B
The SDX3-100C is an AIT-3 tape that has a capacity of 100 GB native and 260 GB compressed. With a 12 MB/s (native) transfer rate and a 31 MB/s (compressed) transfer rate, the SDX3-100C has a 64K R-MIC (Remote – Memory In Cassette). When an AIT-3 drive is operated with application software that supports R-MIC functionality, R-MIC can help users to access key media volume parameters that are supported by End User application software. In essence, R-MIC works like MIC but doesn’t require physical contact. The SDX3-100C is based on an 8mm tape format like all AIT tapes and is consequently smaller than all single reeled tapes of similar capacity. The AME (Advanced Metal Evaporated) feature of the Sony SDX3-100C tape allows it to last longer and be far more reliable than common metal particle tapes.
