These HP AIT backup tapes can store 35 GB of uncompressed data and 70 GB of compressed data on a tape of length 170 meters. The Q1997A has an EEPROM capacity of 64 kbits and uses AME (Advanced Metal Evaporated) tape technology. The base material used for the tape is Aramid. All this means that your HP AIT Q1997A tape cartridge will last longer and will be far more reliable over the years. The MIC (Memory In Chip) technology employed on the HP AIT tape enables faster data access and greater data integrity.
