The Sony LTX100G LTO-1 Ultrium tape is qualified by the LTO Technology Provider Companies. The Sony LTX100G LTO-1 Ultrium tape has a capacity of 100 GB native and 200 GB compressed. Transfer speeds for the Sony LTO-1 Ultrium tape ranges from 20 MB/s native to 40 MB/s compressed. This Sony LTX100G LTO-1 Ultrium tape is compatible with LTO-1 and LTO-2 tape drives and autoloaders in both read and write mode. The Sony LTX100G is also compatible with LTO-3 tape drives and autoloaders in read mode. Using Metal Particle (MP) technology and RLL as its encoding method, the Sony LTX100G also has LTO-CM (Linear Tape Open – Cartridge Memory) of size 4K. This (the LTO-CM) allows users to quickly determine the files in a tape cartridge and also to store user specified information. The Sony LTX100G LTO-1 Ultrium has a tape length of 609 meters.
