|DTF Tapes||Back to Top|
DTF or Digital tape format is a form of data media storage that uses magnetic tape technology. The DTF data media format was developed by Sony and uses a half-inch wide tape which is read and written with a helical scan process. The DTF data media also conforms to ISO and IEC 15731 standards. DTF data media capacities range from (for DTF-1) 12-42 GB (at 12 MB/s transfer rate) and (for DTF-2) 60-200 GB (at 24 MB/s transfer rate). DTF data media is a high performance magnetic tape technology that was based on the cartridge shell of Sony’s highly successful half-inch Digital Betacam. DTF drives were widely used in general enterprise wide backup and SANs (Storage Area Networks) as well as archiving video etc. At the time DTF data media was a technological breakthrough for backup in tape data media. We sell DTF tapes and cleaning cartridges by Sony.
