DLTVS1-160, Sony DLT-VS1 80GB/160GB, DLT-V4 160GB/320GB Backup Tape (Retail Packaging)

The Sony DLTVS1-160 is the only DLT-VS1 tape currently available at Tape4Backup. The Sony DLTVS1-160 has an 80 GB native and a 160 GB compressed capacity. The rate at which data can be transferred to and from the DLTVS1-160 is 8 MB/s native and 16 MB/s compressed. Sony uses special calendaring technology that ensures reduced surface roughness as compared to other DLT-VS1 tapes thereby ensuring that the DLTVS1-160 has far lower error rate and it supports higher data density tape drives. The tape formulation used in the DLTVS1-160 is MP+ (Metal Particle +) that offers more consistent signal characteristics.
