DDS 1 (Digital Data Storage) Tape was first released in 1989 on 60 and 90 meter length tape. The capacity for DDS 1 is 1.3 GB on a 60m length tape and 2 GB on a 90m length tape. DDS tape compromises to international standards of the DAT manufacturer’s group.
