The HP C7982A is a SDLT cleaning tape. The HP C7982A is made specifically for use with SDLT tape drives. This means with proper usage of the C7982A cleaning tape you can significantly prolong the life of your SDLT tape drive. The HP C7982A is compatible with both SDLT 220 and SDLT 320 tape drives. The HP C7982A is good for 20 cleaning cycles. Once the cleaning cartridge has been used for its whole length (for example the HP C7982A is good for around 20 cleaning cycles) it should not be rewind-ed and used because this may potentially damage your tape drive.
