The HP C7980A is an SDLT-1 tape cartridge with a capacity ranging from 110 GB – 160 GB native and 220 GB – 320 GB compressed depending on the drive it is being used with. The HP C7980A is compatible with both the SDLT 220 and SDLT 320 tape drives in both read/write formats. For SDLT 600 drives the compatibility with HP C7980A tape media only extends to read mode. Similarly transfer rates for the HP C7980A also range between 11 MB/s and 16 MB/s native and 22 MB/s and 36 MB/s compressed depending on the drive it is being used with.
