These HP LTO-2 C7972A Ultrium tapes have a native capacity of 200 GB and a compressed capacity of 400 GB. The HP C7972A like all other LTO-2 tapes is fully compatible with all LTO-2 and LTO-3 tape drives and auto-libraries. With transfer rates of up to 40 MB/s native and 80 MB/s compressed, the C7972A LTO-2 Ultrium tape cartridges also have the LTO-CM (Linear Tape Open – Cartridge Memory) to make file access quicker and more reliable. HP (Hewlett-Packard)’s continuous testing ensures that the LTO-2 Ultrium C7972A tape has more than 30 years archival life and can last for at least 1,000,000 passes.
