The HP C5708A is a DDS-3 cartridge tape cartridge. The C5708A has a capacity of 12 GB uncompressed and 24 GB compressed data on a tape of 120 meters in length. The HP C5708A has been thoroughly tested by HP to ensure compatibility with all other DDS-3 tape drives, especially the HP SureStore DAT tape drives. The HP C5708A can be used for a minimum of 2000 head passes or for 100 full backups before it has to be replaced. The transfer rate applicable to the C5708A is 1.1 MB/s whereas it is 0.6 MB/s for DDS-2 tape media.
