These 225 meter tapes are 8mm tapes (or Data8 tapes). These 225m Data8 tapes use AME (Advanced Metal Evaporated) tape formulation and also have SmartClean technology. This is basically a section of cleaning tape at the beginning and/or end of the 225m 8mm tape thus preventing accumulation of dust, etc on your 8mm Mammoth 2 (M2) tape drive’s read/write head. These 225m tapes were made to be used with Mammoth 2 (M2) tape drives and autoloaders. They have a native capacity of 60 GB and can reach a peak capacity of 150 GB for compressed data (this is dependant on the compression ratio of your tape drive). We offer tapes by Exabyte and Sony, Dual-Life Sony tapes are also available.
