The 170 meter 8mm tape cartridge is made using Advanced Metal Evaporated (AME) technology and is read/written using helical scan technology. Released for Mammoth 8mm tape drives (Exabyte 8900) with a capacity of 20 GB and a transfer rate of 3 MB/s and also for Mammoth2 tape drives with a capacity of 45 GB and a transfer rate of 12 MB/s, 170 meter 8mm tapes are a reliable media for storing large amounts of computer data. We offer 8mm tapes (170 meter) by IBM, Exabyte and Sony.
