The Imation 43832 is an enterprise tape cartridge as well, but unlike the Imation 42149 and Imation 40852, it is a 3590 compatible tape cartridge and is not for use with 3590E tape drives. The Imation 43832 has a capacity of 10 GB to 30 GB native and 30 GB to 90 GB native. With a PET based tape formulation, the Imation 43832 has a durability of 400 full passes or more than 120,000 read-forward passes. The cartridge is built quite sturdily so even when the 43832 tape has been dropped from a height of up to 1 meter it is still suitable for a single use. The Imation 43832 features Imation’s proprietary back-coating which prevents damage caused by static charges and also the patented Imation FlashGard Weld which prevents damage to the tape from debris from the sonic welding which is used to seal the cartridge shell.
