The Imation BlackWatch Volsafe 40869 is very similar to both the 40867 and the 40868 tape cartridge except that where the 40868 features both initialization and color bar code labels and the 40867 neither, the 40869 features only color bar code labels. In all other aspects the Imation 40869 is similar to both the other two tape cartridges. The Imation 40869 has a 40 GB native capacity and 30 MB/s native transfer rate when used with the T9840C tape drive. The Volsafe technology allows the 40869 tape media to be used on standard 9840 tape drives without the need for additional software or hardware.
