The Maxell 200028 is a DDS-4 tape cartridge. The 200028 can store 20 GB of native data and 40 GB of compressed data on a 150 meter tape. The Maxell 200028 features only the best quality magnetic media to ensure minimal dropout or error rate. With the use of Maxell’s patented ceramic coating process, the reliability of the 200028 is also ensured so that it can last at least 2000 passes and has an estimated archival life of up to 30 years. The Maxell 200028 has the MRS (Media Recognition System) that allows the tape drive to detect that a writable DDS-4 tape has been inserted; any tape without this feature can only be used in a read-only form. Another key feature of the Maxell 200028 is the Safe-T-Lock Hub-Locking mechanism that also reduces error rates.
