12514, Imation 3480 Enterprise Tape Cartridge

Imation has partnered with IBM to develop the 12514 tape media and ensure its compatibility with all OEM 3480 tape drives. The 12514 3480 enterprise tape cartridge has a tape based on the PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) substrate. Some of the main advantages of using the Imation 12514 over other 3480 tape cartridges is that the Imation 12514 contains proprietary back coating for (Black Watch brand cartridges) that protects against harmful static energy and wound-in dust debris. Another advantageous feature is the FlashGard weld which prevents weld debris from contaminating the tape pack and minimizes drop damage. Lastly, Imation provides superior technical support for its customers.
