The Sun Microsystems (formerly StorageTek) 003-3832-01 tape media is an enterprise level tape cartridge. The Sun 003-3832-01 is compatible with only 9940A and 9940B tape drives. With the 9940A the 003-3832-01 has a native capacity of 60 GB. With the 9940B however the 003-3832-01 has a capacity of up to 200 GB native. The tape formulation for the 003-3832-01 is AMP (Advanced Metal Particle) and the substrate used is PEN (Polyethylene Naphthalene). The 003-3832-01 is a highly durable tape media which can withstand a fall from up to a meter height and still be used to recover data. Also the 003-3832-01 has an archival life of up to 30 years.
